Vol. 249 No. 1

Written Answers. - Promotion of Army Private.

371.

asked the Minister for Defence if a private soldier (name supplied) applied for promotion last year to the rank of corporal; if he was turned down as medical grade C; if such medical disability was incurred while he was a member of the Army physical training team in 1937; and if he will investigate the circumstances relating to this application.

The man referred to in the Deputy's question was considered for promotion to corporal last year but because of his medical grading he was not deemed suitable for promotion.

The medical disability, arising from which the man is in medical category "C", was not incurred as a result of an injury while he was a member of the Army physical training team in 1937.
