Vol. 249 No. 2

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 4, 5 and 6. Nos. 5 and 6 will be discussed with No. 4. It is proposed to take Questions from 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Is it the Taoiseach's intention to allow the Opposition motion of no confidence in Deputy Gibbons, a member of the present Cabinet, to come before the House?

So far as I am concerned I am quite willing to have any motion within the terms of order.

In other words the Leader of the House is saying publicly that he welcomes such a motion.

I said I am prepared to have any motion that the Opposition proposes to table within the rules of order.

Would the Taoiseach not agree that yesterday he said he was prepared to discuss in the immediate future, as soon as possible, a vote of no confidence and yet the Taoiseach, through his Whip, refused to allow the House to sit tomorrow and Saturday to conclude the motion of no confidence?

That is silly.

What is the delay?

(Interruptions.)

We are starting now. Does the Taoiseach need the weekend to whip in the three boys?

(Interruptions.)

Are you all right yourselves?

What about Deputy Dr. Browne and Deputy Thornley?

Agreed to suspend Standing Order No. 46.
