Vol. 249 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Northern Political Situation.

5.

asked the Taoiseach whether he has made any special arrangements to ensure that he is kept informed on the situation in Northern Ireland.

I am kept fully informed on the political situation in the north and I am satisfied that my information is and has been accurate.

Can the Taoiseach say if there is any possibility of or any necessity for a meeting soon with Major Chichester Clark?

I do not see any likelihood of it.

The Taoiseach's information on the North of Ireland now may possibly be accurate, we do not know, but how can be say that his information on Northern Ireland has been accurate when he had to admit that he was misinformed about the activities of some of his former colleagues who were involved themselves in the position in Northern Ireland and were part of that position and a very important and pernicious part?

The question refers to the situation in Northern Ireland. I am satisfied I have full and accurate information on it.
