Vol. 249 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Lands

9.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that there are a few holdings of land in the village of Russelstown, Milltown, County Galway, in the hands of the Land Commission; if and when the Land Commission intend to divide these lands; and if he is further aware that there are other lands in that village that need to be acquired by the Land Commission and divided between people who would use it.

Lands awaiting distribution in the townland of Russelstown comprise two small holdings, aggregating 31 acres, and it is hoped that allocation will be effected in the coming spring.

I am aware that the Land Commission are concerned to obtain further land with a view to enlarging the many smallholdings in the locality and are examining every means to this end.
