Vol. 249 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Housing.

41.

asked the Minister for Local Government the causes of the inordinate delay in the completion of the contract of Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation commenced on 6th May 1968, at Mount-town lands, County Dublin, for the erection of 104 houses; and if he will urge the local authority to expedite the completion.

I understand from Dún Laoghaire Corporation that the delay in the completion of this scheme is due mainly to the effects of the recent cement strike, that 47 dwellings have already been handed over to the corporation and that the scheme will be fully completed next month.

42.

asked the Minister for Local Government the dates on which development work and construction work will commence at the 200 house Ballybrack, County Dublin, rental scheme of Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation; and the date on which work will be definitely completed.

I understand that development work on this site has been completed and that work on the construction of the houses will be started next month. The scheme is due for completion within 92 weeks from the date of commencement of work. Houses will be handed over in stages as the work progresses.
