I have not statutory authority to enable me to acquire fisheries such as those in the river systems mentioned by the Deputy. The subjects of ownership and use of inland fisheries come within the terms of reference of the recently established Commission on Inland Fisheries and I do not consider it opportune to initiate any action in this field until recommendations in the matter are received from the commission.
