Vol. 249 No. 8

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Buchanan Report.

73.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, further to the Government statement of 19th May, 1969, and replies in Dáil Éireann of 17th July, 1969, and further reply on 23rd October, 1969, and more recent replies on this matter the Government has as yet completed its consideration of the Buchanan Report.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given to him on 24th February in which he has advised that the question of physical planning measures for regional development is being pursued with the Departments concerned and, through the new regional groups, with the local authorities. The regional groups are being pressed to complete their reports. When these reports have been received and evaluated with the other work completed or in progress in regional planning, the findings will be taken into account in the further consideration of a strategy for regional development.

Questions Nos. 74, 75 and 76 postponed.
