Vol. 249 No. 8

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin-Wicklow Park.

97.

andMr. O'Higgins asked the Minister for Local Government what plans, if any, his Department has for the establishment of a national park in the south County Dublin-Wicklow area.

There are no plans or proposals before my Department for the establishment of such a park. The initiative in the matter rests with the planning authorities concerned. I am aware that Dublin County Council have been considering the possibility of joint action with Wicklow County Council to preserve and improve the amenities of the mountain area, and also that preliminary discussions on the subject have already taken place between representatives of the councils.
