Vol. 249 No. 9

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Gaeltacht Schools Policy.

35.

asked the Minister for Education whether he will invite the Commission on the Gaeltacht to advise him in connection with schools policy in the Gaeltacht and specfically in the case of Dunquin school, County Kerry; and whether he is prepared to defer a final decision on Dunquin school, pending receipt of the Commission's advice.

There could be no question of any group which would have due regard to the educational interests of the children in Dunquin recommending that they receive their education in a school in which there would be only one teacher. No purpose would be served by what the Deputy has in mind other than depriving the children of the better education which can be provided for them in Baile an Fhirtéirigh.

Questions Nos. 36 to 40 postponed.
