Vol. 249 No. 11

Ceisteanna — Questions Oral Answers. - Shannon Landing Rights.

16.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power whether he has received an application from a company (name supplied) for landing rights at Shannon; if so, whether he proposes to grant these rights; and, if not, why.

The company wrote to my Department in March, 1968, saying that they anticipated that they would require a technical stop at Shannon on the route Nassau/Luxembourg and that they were interested in obtaining traffic rights at Shannon. They were informed that there would be no objection to technical stops at Shannon and that the application for traffic rights, which is a matter for Governmental consideration, should be made by the competent civil aviation authority for the Bahamas to my Department. No such application has been received.
