Vol. 249 No. 11

Ceisteanna — Questions Oral Answers. - Dublin Derelict Sites.

69.

asked the Minister for Local Government what plans Dublin Corporation have for the derelict sites on the Emmet Road, Inchicore, Dublin.

This is a matter for the local authority. There are no proposals in relation to it before my Department.

Has the Minister seen this derelict site which is an eyesore and is being used as a refuse place? Could he find out from the Dublin Corporation if they propose to do anything with this? I cannot get this information.

Has the Deputy made a complaint to Dublin Corporation about this case?

I have written to Dublin Corporation, yes.

The Deputy has made a complaint?

No, I have not made a complaint. I have asked them what their plans are.

They have not got any plans for what they call "alleged derelict sites" on Emmet Road, Inchicore.

These are houses which were demolished.

They have not received any complaints about this and there is no mention of these derelict sites as such in the draft development plan.

It covers acres on the Emmet Road, Inchicore, by the side of the Camac River.

This is really a matter for Dublin Corporation. Again the Deputy is coming to the wrong person with his request. There are no proposals in relation to it before the Department. We have received no communication from the corporation regarding any derelict sites at Emmet Road, Inchicore.

I will accept that by all means. I will bring it to the attention of Dublin Corporation again and if I do not get something reasonable I will bring it to the Minister again.
