Vol. 249 No. 11

Ceisteanna — Questions Oral Answers. - RTE Services.

84.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of recent increases in radio and TV licence fees, he will state if RTE are about to cut down on their services to the public; if redundancy will take place; if so, in what form; if hours of showing of TV and radio broadcasting are to be cut; if so, by how much; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand that certain economy measures are proposed by Radio Telefís Éireann but that they will not result in staff redundancies or in a reduction in broadcasting hours in the television or the radio broadcasting service.
