Vol. 249 No. 11

Ceisteanna — Questions Oral Answers. - Use of Television.

87.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if his attention has been drawn to the use made of television medium in other countries during elections; and if he proposes to introduce any legislation or regulations so as to prevent abuse or misuse of television by candidates for electioneering purposes.

I am not clear what the Deputy is referring to in the first part of the question. As regards the second part the need for amending legislation or regulations for the purposes mentioned is not apparent and the answer is therefore "no".

Does the Minister know exactly what the Deputy meant by the question?
