As Government statistics are compiled at the end of each financial year the information which the Deputy requests is not available. The total amount of net Government borrowing from 1st April, 1957, to 31st March 1970, was £644 million. The total amount of interest paid on the borrowing is estimated at £196 million offset by £61 million interest received on moneys re-lent.
