Vol. 250 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Northern Refugees.

94.

asked the Minister for Defence the number of refugees from the north at present being accommodated in Irish Army camps.

All the refugees from the north are at present accommodated in Kilworth Camp, County Cork. The total number as of Monday morning, 7th December, was 45.

Have the Army any arrangement for rehabilitating those people?

We hope that conditions will soon obtain which will make it possible for them to return to their homes.

Is there anything given to them by way of grant to enable them to set up home again. In many cases they are dispossessed people.

They are, but education facilities are being provided and they are being assisted in the best manner possible.
