Vol. 250 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Housing.

237.

asked the Minister for Local Government what plans exist for additional housing in the South Dock, Pembroke East and Pembroke West wards of Dublin, and whether he will make a statement with regard to his intentions concerning housing in this area following his consultations with representatives of the local community in the South Dock area.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 60 of 5th February, 1970, regarding the housing position in the South Dock and Pembroke East Wards. Since then I have given approval in principle to plans for a scheme of 70 Flats at Fenian Street which adjoins the South Dock Ward. I understand also that the corporation have prepared a layout plan for 20 flats at Power's Court. As regards the City Quay area, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Deputy Moore's Question No. 37 of 12th November last. I am awaiting any proposal from the corporation for housing in this area. No details are available in my Department as to any proposals for housing by the corporation in the Pembroke West area.
