While no common organisation of the market in sheep and lamb has yet been introduced in the EEC, the prospects for sheep production here when we are members of an enlarged Community appear promising. Given equal terms of competition with British and Continental producers, Irish producers should fare quite well. Improved returns from the British market and easier access to Continental markets for Irish lamb should result in better prices for our producers and should stimulate increased production.
