Vol. 251 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Aircraft Noise.

22.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power what steps are being taken to ensure that noise from jumbo jets using Dublin Airport will be kept to a minimum.

I am informed that the noise produced by Boeing 747 aircraft—Jumbo Jets—is no greater than that produced by existing jet aircraft such as the Boeing 707. When using Dublin Airport the 747's will be subject to the same operational procedures as other jets and no additional noise problems should arise.
