Vol. 251 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Meals.

30.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether his Department is prepared to provide hot meals at midday for children attending St. Joseph's School for the Deaf, Cabra, Dublin.

The provision of meals at this school is primarily a matter for the school authorities and Dublin Corporation which is empowered to make arrangements, subject to the approval of my Department, for the provision of meals for children attending national schools in its administrative area. I understand that the corporation have not been approached in the matter. Any proposal by the corporation for the inclusion of this school in the school meals scheme operated by it will receive due consideration.
