Vol. 251 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Land Commission Offices.

67.

asked the Minister for Finance if, in view of the allocation of £35,000 for the erection of new Land Commission offices in Castlebar, he will state (i) when it is proposed to start building, (ii) when, approximately, transfer of personnel will begin and (iii) what steps have been taken with Castlebar Urban Council to ensure that all necessary services are available.

I am not in a position at this stage to supply the information sought at (i) and (ii). There has, however, been considerable progress with the planning of the new offices.

With regard to (iii), Castlebar Urban District Council have been supplied with copies of the development sketch plans and have raised no objections. Further consultation with the council will be determined by planning progress.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary say if £35,000 is to dig the foundations because that is about all it will do at present prices?
