6.

asked the Minister for Labour whether he had, or intends to have, consultations with a company (name supplied) on the extent of possible redundancy over the next few years following the announcement to this effect made at the company's annual general meeting by its chairman.

The firm in question have been assured that the services of my Department will be available to them and to the employees involved for dealing with any problems that may arise. The firm have assured me that they are determined to solve their problems in the spirit of the good employer and that their aim will be to keep redundancy to the absolute minimum.
