Vol. 251 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo School.

19.

asked the Minister for Education if he will make a statement concerning the current condition of Lisduff national school, Kiltimagh, County Mayo; and if he will ensure that this school is fully serviced with electric light and toilets.

Lisduff national school is a two-teacher school which, though sound in structure, is lacking in modern amenities. In order to provide better educational facilities for the children of primary school age in the area, arrangements are in hand for the amalgamation of the Lisduff national school with the national schools in Kiltimagh.

These arrangements involve the extension of Kiltimagh boys' national school, for which plans have been prepared and a grant has recently been sanctioned.

I am having inquiries made as to what improvements should be carried out at the Lisduff school pending its amalgamation with the schools in Kiltimagh.
