Vol. 251 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Farm Improvement Scheme Grants.

23.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if the Government have currently before them any proposals for increased grants under the farm improvement scheme.

If the Deputy will repeat his question in a week's time I expect to be in a position to give him a reply.

A Cheann Comhairle, I have put down at least eight or nine questions this afternoon and if I am to be given replies of this nature by various Ministers, with gross discourtesy to the House, the press and the communications media, frankly, I do not see any purpose in staying here for the remainder of Question Time. I consider that when any Deputy wishes to raise a matter and when the Minister has already on his file——

We cannot debate this matter.

——the reply to the question which he is refusing to give, that indicates a blatant disregard for people who are quite entitled to put down questions. This is not a frivolous question.

We cannot have a debate on it.
