Vol. 251 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ground Rents.

38.

asked the Minister for Justice if the Government has any proposals currently before it to prohibit the creation of new ground rents.

If the Deputy will repeat his question in a week's time, I expect to be in a position to give him a reply.

May I ask the Minister why he could not give a reply to my questions today?

The Deputy should use more imagination in putting them down. It is unfortunate for the Deputy that he has to rely on the resolutions of members of the Fianna Fáil Party to supply material to him for questions which he would put down in this House in abuse of the whole procedure of Question Time.

Is the Minister aware that I have put down questions on the Offences Against the State Act, ground rents and auctioneering fees within the past six months?

Could the Deputy explain to the House why these three questions are in the precise terms of resolutions on the Clár for the Fianna Fáil Ard-Fheis?

That matter does not come up for discussion.

It does for me.

We will tell you all about it next week.

I want to give formal notice of my intention to raise the subject matter of Question No. 8 on today's Order Paper this evening. The question related to cancer allowances. The question was addressed to the Tánaiste.

The Chair will communicate with the Deputy.

I have no intention of remaining for the remainder of Question Time.
