Vol. 251 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin City Architect.

54.

asked the Minister for Local Government if it is proposed to fill the vacant post of Dublin City architect; and, if so, when.

Arising out of a review of the city architect's department by Dublin Corporation, two offices have been created in place of the existing single office—an office of chief housing architect and an office of chief civic and amenities architect. The new offices have been advertised by the Local Appointments Commission.

For how many years has this office been vacant?

Since 27th July, 1965.

All I can say is that it certainly does not show much expedition on the part of the Department of Local Government.
