Vol. 251 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ground Rents.

59.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he proposes to introduce legislation to enable owners and purchasers of local authority houses to buy their ground rents.

This matter is being considered in my Department in the context of future housing legislation. In the meantime if any housing authority wish to sell the fee simple interest to a tenant-purchaser, subject to reasonable conditions, including conditions as to price and the use of the dwelling as a residence, I will be willing to consider their proposals.
