Vol. 251 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Trade with African States.

5.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if there are any specific plans to encourage the growth of trade between the developing African States and this country.

This country is taking part in the efforts now under way in the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development to work out a scheme of tariff preferences which would benefit the trade of the developing countries generally, including those of Africa. It is too early to say what the eventual outcome of these efforts may be.
