Vol. 251 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyfermot (Dublin) Sorting Office.

71.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the new sorting office at Ballyfermot, Dublin will be completed and opened; how many persons will be employed there; and what area it will cater for.

According to the latest advice received from the Office of Public Works the new district sorting office building at Ballyfermot is expected to be completed by the end of next April, but a further month or so will be required to equip it with furniture, sorting fittings etc. No firm date for the opening of the office can yet be given. A staff of about 20 will be employed initially. The office will cater for the Ballyfermot, Chapelizod and Palmerstown areas.

Will the Minister get Mr. Kevin Boland to open it?

I might. I certainly will not ask the Deputy.
