Vol. 252 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Estate.

34.

asked the Minister for Lands if, in view of the fact that the Ryan estate, Coolteen, Camross, County Wexford is deteriorating and if not utilised soon will be expensive to reclaim, he will now state when it is proposed to have it allotted.

Certain plans were formulated and approved for this 80-acre property in 1967—but part of the lands was refused by the approved allottee thereby necessitating a revision of the allocation proposals. The case is receiving full attention and every effort will be made to formulate a revised scheme with the minimum delay.

I might add that the lands are let for grazing pending final disposal and there is no evidence of any serious deterioration as suggested in the question.

I should like to assure the Minister that there is deterioration and I should like to ask him to urge on the Land Commission the necessity for finalising this matter soon.

I shall do that. I have done it, in fact.
