Vol. 252 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Potato Exports.

38.

andMr. Begley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the value of new potatoes exported from Cork port to the British market in 1970.

The estimated value was approximately £7,400.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say if that is an improvement or a disimprovement on the previous year?

A disimprovement.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary give any reason for that?

The reason is that the price obtainable on the British market was not as good as in former years while the price obtainable on the home market was much better.

We ate them at home.
