Vol. 252 No. 4

Written Answers. - Estate Duty Office Communications.

67.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that notwith-standing repeated assurances to the contrary the Estate Duty Office persists in addressing communications to correspondents in which correspondents' references are omitted; and if he will now take such action as may be necessary to prevent any further occurrence of like inconsiderate communications.

I am not aware that addressees' references are omitted from communications from the Estate Duty Branch of the Office of the Revenue Commissioners. The commissioners' staff have standing instructions that such references should be given and I am satisfied that these instructions are being complied with. If the Deputy will supply details of any case in which a reference was omitted, I shall have the matter investigated.
