Vol. 252 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answer. - British Forces in Northern Ireland.

2.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his attention has been drawn to a report (details supplied) alleging aggressive and discriminatory attitudes on the part of the British Forces towards the residents of Unity Flats, Belfast; and if he proposes to make representations to the British Government in the matter.

I have seen the report in question. The Deputy may rest assured that the Government's views on such matters are known to the British authorities.

Has the Minister conveyed any view with regard to this particular incident?

The Deputy can rest assured that I take care of all matters which come within that sort of classification but I make a practice of not dealing publicly in detail with what I have done.

What the Minister has done or has not done—whichever applies.
