Vol. 252 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Primary School Allocations.

36.

asked the Minister for Education the amount of money allocated to County Kerry for new primary schools or for the reconstruction of existing primary schools for 1968-69, 1969-70 and 1970-71.

37.

andMr. E. Collins asked the Minister for Education (a) the amount of grants allocated for new primary schools and for the reconstruction of existing primary schools in Dublin city and county for 1968-69, 1969-70 and 1970-71 and (b) the amount of grants allocated to the rest of the country for the same purposes for the same years.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 36 and 37 together.

My Department does not keep statistics of the amount of money spent on the building and reconstruction of national schools on a county or city basis and accordingly I am not in a position to give the information requested by the Deputies.

Any effort to compile this information would involve the expenditure of such an inordinate amount of official time as would be wholly unwarranted.
