This matter was first raised five years ago when the then Minister for Education circularised all post-primary schools. While a satisfactory level of co-operation has been achieved in a number of centers there are many other centers where much more could be done. The implementation of proposals based on the working paper on community schools would cater for the situation in a large number of these latter centres.
