Vol. 252 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pension.

15.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if, having regard to the savings that would result if means had not to be investigated, he will state the extra cost to the Exchequer of abolishing the means test in the case of applicants for the non-contributory old age pension.

It is estimated that the extra cost in a full year at present would be of the order of £10 millions.
