Vol. 253 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Beef Cattle Incentive Scheme.

70.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will amend the Beef Cattle Incentive Scheme to make it applicable to all cows on farms which are west of the Shannon.

The increases approved last year in the grants under the scheme were, of course, of particular benefit to the owners of small herds and well over half of the participants in the scheme are in the western counties. I do not propose to make any change in the scheme this year.

The remaining questions will appear on tomorrow's Order Paper.
