Vol. 253 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cavan Estate.

40.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Lands the date on which the Land Commission obtained possession of the McCaul estate in the townland of Greaghnacross, Kill, Cootehill, County Cavan; and when it is proposed to allocate it to relieve the acute congestion in that area.

After prolonged dealings, the Land Commission, in December last, reached agreement with the owner for the purchase of this 46-acre property; arrangements are now being made to close the sale. It is, as yet, too early to say when a scheme for division can be planned.

(Cavan): Have the Land Commission got possession of this holding yet?

(Cavan): I understand they had been letting it for some time. That is not so?

It cannot be.
