Vol. 253 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tractor Accident.

43.

asked the Minister for Lands why a tractor used by the Forestry Division at Ahenny, Carrickon-Suir, County Tipperary, is not fitted with a safety cab; if he is aware of the tragic death of one of the operators recently as a result of an accident involving the tractor; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The inquest arising from this unfortunate accident has not yet taken place and, pending the inquest, it would not be appropriate to make a statement.

It is three months since the accident and would the Minister agree that his Department have been, for some unknown reason, delaying this inquest?

I am not so aware.

Turning a blind eye.

I am not so aware.
