Vol. 253 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Forestry Lands.

18.

asked the Minister for Lands why a farm (details supplied) in the Macroom area of County Cork which was purchased over two years ago by the Forestry Section of his Department has still not been paid for.

The lands in question have not yet been acquired by the forest and wildlife service of my Department and accordingly the question of payment for them has not arisen. Agreement to purchase was reached early in 1970. The fact that the lands involved were partly freehold created some complications in relation to a subdivision and this delayed completion of the transaction. These difficulties have recently been cleared and it is hoped to complete the sale in the near future. The way will then be clear for payment of the purchase money.
