Vol. 253 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Listowel Factory.

34.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will consider making available a 50 per cent grant towards the establishment of a casein factory at Listowel, County Kerry.

35.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if, in view of the prevailing unsettled condition in regard to the supply of skim milk to the Dairy Disposal Company from the Kerry area, he will take steps in co-operation with the Departments of Industry and Commerce and Finance to establish a casein factory in Listowel.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 34 and 35 together.

I have already agreed in principle to grant the necessary licence in due course for the proposed casein factory at Listowel.

The making available of an industrial grant for the factory is a matter for the Industrial Development Authority to whom the promoters have already made an application, which has received the support of my Department.
