asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will make representations to the British Government to ensure that the 1970 bye-law conditions laid down by the East Lothian authorities regarding proper housing and sanitary conditions for seasonal workers will be enforced.

The Embassy at London has already been in contact with the appropriate authorities in London and in Edinburgh regarding the enforcement of the bye-laws in question and an officer of the Embassy has visited potato picking areas in South-East Scotland.
