Vol. 254 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford School.

31.

asked the Minister for Education if any provision has been made in the present financial year to allow for improvements at Killea national school, Dunmore East, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

32.

asked the Minister for Education if sanction has been given for the erection of a new school at Killea, Dunmore East, County Waterford, and if moneys will be provided in the financial year 1972-73 for its erection; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

With your permission a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 31 and 32 together.

It is not proposed to carry out a scheme of improvements to the existing Killea national school in the present financial year.

A grant has been sanctioned towards the cost of a new school at Killea and the case has been accorded priority in the financial year 1972-73.

Is the Minister aware that at the moment very young children have to cross a road to go to the toilet? This is a hazard to their safety and should be rectified immediately.

I am making provision for very early priority in 1972-73 for a new school.
