Vol. 254 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Water Scheme.

41.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries why he has not stated to date the proposed contribution to Ballintarmon-Annascaul group water scheme, County Kerry; and the reason for the delay.

It is necessary to know the average cost per serviced premises as determined by the Department of Local Government before my Department's contribution to a group water scheme can be computed. I understand that because of a recent increase in the number of scheme participants in the case mentioned, as compared with the number originally included, additional investigations have to be made to provide the information needed by my Department in this connection.

Can the Minister give us an assurance that he will expedite the whole matter?

There will be no unnecessary delay on the part of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
