Ireland does not at present grant any concessions in relation to exports from underdeveloped countries. We have, however, participated fully in the consultations held in the OECD and in the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in connection with the introduction of a generalised scheme of tariff preferences for underdeveloped countries. Ireland, in common, with the other prospective donor countries, expects to introduce a scheme of tariff preferences for such countries within the next year.
