Vol. 254 No. 3

Questions—Ceisteanna. Oral Answers. - Speed Limits.

58.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position in regard to proposals before him to extend speed limit signs on Athlone Road and Ballycumber Road, Ferbane, County Offaly.

The extension of the speed limits on the roads referred to by the Deputy is being considered as part of a review of speed limits in the county. This review will be completed shortly.

If I am not mistaken there have been a number of questions with regard to speed limits and, on each occasion, the reply has been couched in similar terms: the matter will be investigated. When does the Minister expect these investigations to be completed?

I said in my reply "shortly".

59.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he intends confirming the recommendations of the technical committee regarding speed limits in County Wicklow.

Speed limits in County Wicklow will be reviewed within the next few months. The recommendations of the technical committee have been noted and will be fully considered during the course of this review.
