Vol. 254 No. 3

Questions—Ceisteanna. Oral Answers. - County Waterford Housing.

65.

asked the Minister for Local Government if a scheme for the erection of six county council houses in Knockmahon, County Waterford has yet been sanctioned; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

66.

asked the Minister for Local Government if a scheme for two county council houses in Knockmahon, County Waterford, sanctioned by his Department has been completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 65 and 66 together.

Work did not commence on the two houses at Knockmahon, as the approved contractor withdrew his tender. The county council decided then to submit revised proposals for six houses on the same site.

Following examination of these proposals, and discussions between officers of the housing authority and my Department, the council were asked last month to review certain technical aspects of the proposals and I am awaiting their further submission.
