Vol. 254 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Island.

26.

asked the Minister for Finance if Dinish Island, Berehaven, County Cork, has been purchased by his Department; if so, the cost involved; and the reasons for the delay in completing the purchase.

Arrangements for the acquisition of the property are in hand. It has not been found possible to date to agree on a purchase price with the owner and compulsory acquisition proceedings under the provisions of the Fishery Harbour Centres Act, 1968 are well advanced. Failing agreement on a purchase price one will be fixed at arbitration.
