The Programme for Economic and Social Progress includes a commitment to provide capital funding over a seven year period to develop community based health services, including services for the elderly. The provision of a home for the elderly in Achill Sound will depend on the amount of capital funding made available under the programme to the Western Health Board and the board priorities for service developments.
