I understand that Dublin County Council do not expect to complete any dwellings this year in the portion of the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown constituency administered by them. The council have a scheme of 39 houses at Árd Lorcan, Stillorgan, at planning stage; have acquired a site of 144 acres and have instituted compulsory purchase proceedings for the acquisition of 112 acres at Shankill, for the purpose of providing sites for dwellings and industrial and community facilities. Separate figures are not available of the number of approved applicants from this area. I am not in a position to say when the projected schemes will be completed.

I understand that, in two schemes now in progress at Ballybrack, Dún Laoghaire Corporation have completed 94 houses to-date and expect to have a further 248 houses completed by 31st March, 1972. A further scheme of 150 houses at Ballybrack will be advertised for tenders shortly. Sites for 268 more houses are available in this area.
I am not in a position, at this stage, to say when work will be completed on these additional houses. I am informed by the corporation that the total number of approved applicants for rehousing by them at present is 526.
