asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs whether the Government welcomes resolution 466 on the organisation of a 3rd Parliamentary and Scientific Conference, adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 20th January, 1971; and whether, considering the success of the two preceding conferences (London 1961 and Vienna 1964), they will contribute to this conference by their participation.

The Government agree that the necessary resources should be put at the disposal of the Secretary-General of the Council of Europe in order to give effect to this resolution.
Having regard to the fact that preparations for the proposed conference are still at a preliminary stage, it is not possible now to say to what extent the Government can participate in it. This will be considered in due course.
